Today the arts organizations found out what funding they would be receiving from the Arts Council England for the next three years. A total of 1,333 organizations had applied for the funding but only an estimated 695 will be receiving it. Included were 110 new organizations and 585 regularly funded organizations. With the huge spending cuts in the Arts council will this leave young people disconnected from the arts and in a lot of cases disconnected from their communities? Arts Council funded community run projects help to bring young people together to teach them new skills such as teamwork and communications. If these communities loose these projects will this affect the young people development? We need to make sure that we don’t end up with the ‘Lost Generation’.
