The Settlement: Problems with modern internships
21st April, 2011We talked with Milena the founder of ‘The Settlement‘ organisation. The Settlements main aim is to provide an affordable, centrally located house shared between residents that is managed by a host. The house will become the platform to create a social and professional network of interns working within the non-profit sector. Internships are currently high on the governments agenda especially after yesterdays report from The Low Pay Commission criticising HM Revenue & Customs for lax enforcement of Minimum Wage Laws and the payment of interns.
