i-MP Vernon Coaker
7th June, 2011Vernon Coaker Labour MP for Gedling, Nottingham, talks with us about his role as an MP within Gedling along with his role as the Shadow Police Minister. He tells us how he enjoys his time within the constituency and helping to deal with all of their concerns locally along with raising them in Parliament. Along with his constituency work he is the Shadow Police Minister which involves him dealing with issues such as Crime & Anti-Social Behavior.
Up until 1997 Gedling had always been a conservative seat, but since then Vernon has won the seat and has been there ever since. He’s been an MP for over 14 years and hopes he will be able to represent the people of Gedling along with the interest of the Country within his Ministerial role for at least another 14 years.
