Students Protest to Save Student Union
Voice of the Voiceless is our new series made by young people for young people. Every week it brings you the stories of young people often ignored by the mainstream media. Join us as we follow passionate young campaigners as they try and overcome the obstacles placed in front of them and deal with the ups and downs of trying to set the world to rights. This week we follow a protest against the decision by University management to shut down the University of London Students’ Union.
Joe Lo Joe is a 22-year old recent Politics graduate from the University of Sheffield and is currently job-seeking in London. He is now volunteering at Campaign Against the Arms Trade and Catch21 and is most interested in domestic social justice and the plight of the Palestinians. Follow him on twitter @jlo5739
“We know that young people have a view, but too often they don’t have a voice. Catch21’s work is vital in encouraging 18-24 year-olds to participate in the political debate so that British democracy really does mean rule by the people – all people.”
